At noon, police responded to a report of a fight aboard a NJ Transit bus at Broad Street and Lafayette Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
The passenger spat on the driver after a verbal altercation, Fragé said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, Fragé said.
The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.
